Our Oncology Services

  • Comprehensive Oncology Consultation – During a detailed evaluation, we review your pet’s medical history, perform a full physical exam, discuss diagnostic options, and outline a tailored treatment plan that aligns with your goals.

  • Chemotherapy – We offer both injectable and oral chemotherapy protocols designed to slow cancer growth, reduce symptoms, and improve quality of life. Our team customizes each plan to your pet’s diagnosis and tolerance.

  • Immunotherapy & Targeted Therapies – Advanced treatment options that harness the immune system to target specific cancer cells, providing additional tools for managing certain cancers.

  • Advanced Diagnostics (CT, MRI, Ultrasound, X-ray) – Using state-of-the-art imaging technology, we can diagnose, stage, and monitor cancer progression. ECVMC is the first and only location in Wilmington offering an on-site MRI.

  • Staging & Metastasis Evaluation – We use laboratory testing and imaging to determine whether cancer has spread, ensuring treatment plans are fully informed.

  • Collaboration with Specialty Services When tumors require surgical removal or complex medical support, we coordinate care across specialty departments for seamless, multidisciplinary treatment.

  • Palliative Care – When cure is not possible, we focus on comfort, pain management, and maintaining the highest quality of life.

What to Expect

Our oncology service partners closely with our other specialty departments to ensure the most thorough and collaborative care for your pet.

To schedule a consultation, a referral is required from your primary veterinarian or our emergency department. Once the referral is received, our scheduling team will contact you to gather additional information and schedule your appointment.

During your pet’s visit, our oncology team will review your pet’s medical history, perform a detailed physical exam, and discuss recommended diagnostic tests such as bloodwork, imaging, or biopsy. We will outline treatment options, answer your questions, and work with you to determine the next steps that best support your pet’s comfort, health, and quality of life.
