Dr. Katie Wright
Dr. Katie Wright is a Board-Certified Veterinary Oncologist dedicated to providing thoughtful, compassionate cancer care for your pets. She joins ECVMC with extensive specialty training and a genuine passion for guiding families through complex medical decisions with clarity and confidence.
Dr. Wright earned her Bachelor of Science in Zoology, with minors in Animal Science and Environmental Science, at North Carolina State University. She then completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Oklahoma State University before pursuing a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Cornell University. She later completed a rigorous medical oncology residency at the world-renowned Animal Medical Center in New York City.
With broad experience across small animal oncology, Dr. Wright has particular interests in lymphoproliferative disorders (leukemia and lymphoma), hemangiosarcoma, comparative oncology, clinical trials, diagnostic imaging, and One Health. She is especially passionate about helping families understand their pet’s diagnosis and partnering with them to create individualized treatment plans that support both quality of life and long-term outcomes.
Dr. Wright is excited to return to North Carolina and serve the pets and families of the coastal region. Outside of work, she enjoys rock climbing, skiing, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her two young sons.
