Dr. Alexis Hoelmer is originally from Minnesota, where she earned her veterinary degree from the University of Minnesota. She then moved to Idaho to complete a small animal rotating internship and went on to complete a residency in small animal internal medicine at the University of Florida. While she enjoys all aspects of internal medicine, her passion lies in nephrology and gastroenterology, both in managing acute illness and providing long-term care for chronic disease. 

Outside of the hospital, you can find Dr. Hoelmer exploring state parks in the area, spending time on the beach, or checking out local restaurants.
